Shipping & Freight Delivery Rules
We partner with top-tier LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight carriers to get your equipment to you safely.
Address Requirements
-
No P.O. Boxes: Freight trucks physically cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. We require a valid street address.
-
Commercial vs. Residential: Shipping companies classify any home, apartment, school, or church as a "Residential" address, even if you run a business out of it. Standard commercial rates only apply to industrial or commercial locations with tractor-trailer access and standard operating hours.
-
Phone Numbers are Mandatory: Freight dispatchers will call you to schedule a delivery window. If they cannot reach you, your delivery will be delayed.
Market-Specific Freight AdjustmentsÂ
Our outbound freight costs are base-calculated to provide free shipping to our customers whenever possible. However, LTL freight rates to certain regional markets can experience unexpected spikes. If the actual cost to safely deliver your equipment exceeds our base calculation by more than 15%, we will temporarily place your order on hold. We will always reach out to you personally with the updated rate for your approval before processing the charge or shipping your item.Â
Liftgate Service
Commercial equipment is incredibly heavy. If your delivery location does not have a raised loading dock or a forklift, you must select Liftgate Service at checkout.
-
A liftgate lowers the equipment from the truck bed down to the street level.
-
Important: The truck driver will not move the equipment inside your building. Once it is on the ground, moving it inside is 100% your responsibility.
-
If you need "White Glove" or inside delivery, please call us before ordering so we can generate a custom quote.
How to Receive Freight (Critical Instructions)
When your heavy equipment arrives, you must inspect it before the driver leaves. Once you sign the delivery paperwork (the Bill of Lading), you are legally telling the freight company that the item arrived in perfect condition. Chef Grade Supply cannot be held liable for transit damage if you sign for a shipment as "clear."
Step 1: Count and Inspect Unpack the shrink wrap and check the exterior of the boxes. Look for crushed corners, holes, tire marks, or broken pallets. Ensure the number of boxes matches the delivery receipt.
Step 2: Sign Correctly
-
If it looks perfect: Sign the receipt, but write "Subject to Inspection" next to your signature. You then have 3 business days to unbox it completely and report any concealed damage to us.
-
If there is minor damage: Note every single dent or tear on the driver's delivery receipt before signing it. Keep the item, and contact us immediately so we can send replacement parts or file a partial claim.
-
If it is destroyed: Do not sign for it. Refuse the delivery, take clear photos of the damage, and contact our Customer Care Team immediately at 561-473-4220 or email sales@chefgradesupply.com,
Missing Parts? If you open a pristine box and realize a part is missing, you must notify us within 5 business days of delivery so we can rectify the issue.
By purchasing from Chef Grade Supply, you agree to this Return and Refund Policy.
